Southwest Gourds

Most of these gourds were decorated with traditional Southwestern Native symbols and designs.  I use acrylic paints and sponge painting to achieve a soft, non-fading color.  Many are accented with inlaid heishi (beads), cutouts and carved areas.  I especially enjoy making gourd vessels with lids.
