Gourds are certainly versatile, just look at the unusual assortment of creations on this page. Gourd teapots are not functional, but they sure are cute. I have sometimes cut a hole in one side of the teapot and created a dollhouse miniature scene inside the teapot. The rattles are functional and each has a voice all it's own. Some are filled with BB's, beads, beans, rice and other materials. Each creates a different sound.
